

Our Philosophy
Inner Ignition helps women cultivate their inner strength through self defense training and personal reflection practices. We believe that when you find power connecting with your body you find power in yourself. Inner power is not about physical strength, but confidence and strength of heart. Learning how to stand up for yourself with your voice and body, and how to access your inner fire to defend yourself if necessary, lets you experience how capable you truly are. Workshops help give you a new experience of power and potential providing an inner resource to draw from as you navigate your life.
What to Expect
Self Defense Training
Using the techniques and principles of Krav Maga learn and train physical skills you can draw on to defend yourself.
Presentations
Talks and demonstrations including but not limited to situational awareness, using your voice, and the importance of self value.
Real Life Scenarios
Practicing your voice and physical self defense skills as you work through realistic challenges and threats.
Self Reflection
Personal and group reflection through conversations and worksheets.
Customized Courses
We offer workshops for small private groups to large corporate and non-profit groups. Our training content is designed based on the age and lifestyle of you or your group. We host workshops on a variety of topics and teach ongoing private lessons.
Safety and Fun
Women of all lifestyles and backgrounds are welcome at Inner Ignition. We are trauma-informed and heart centered. We know that safety is fundamental in all its forms, physical and emotional. We take ourselves seriously, but we also have fun. Training is filled with laughter and camaraderie that leaves you feeling ignited!

FAQ
Do I need prior martial arts or self defense experience?
Not at all! Inner Ignition specializes in teaching beginners. We love introducing women to martial arts.
Do I have to be “fit” to participate?
You do not need to be “physically fit” to participate. We will meet you where you are at in your fitness. To participate fully in the physical training an ability to do light to moderate exercise is recommended. If you cannot train due to ability or injury participating in the class experience and lessons still have great value.
Is this an exercise class?
While this is not designed as an exercise class you will be physically active for periods of time as you practice self defense techniques. This can be invigorating and at times challenging like exercise.Those who participate in ongoing training do experience increased fitness over time.
Is this for all ages?
Most workshops are designed for adult women aged 18–65 years old. Participants younger than 18 years old require pre-approval from a guardian and the instructor. We do offer customized classes with content appropriate for teens and college students.
How do I participate?
We teach workshops and private lessons at our home-base in Santa Cruz, California. We can also come to you for individual or group training. Contact us with questions and interest and we’ll connect on how best to work together!
